Mercedes R230 SL 500 V8 (2003)

Since its launch in 1954, the Mercedes SL has showcased the latest engineering, style and technology. The fifth generation 'R230' was the first SL to feature the folding metal hardtop, giving extra practicality and security to the classic roadster design.
 
This stunning example is a late December 2003 model in Tellur Silver Metallic with two tone grey nappa leather and burr walnut polished wooden trim. Not to forget the SL500 holds the desirable 5.0 V8, sat on 18” 5 spoke alloys with brand new tyres and 77,526 miles. The photos listed do not compliment the unbelievable condition of the vehicle, as it has been professionally detailed and ceramic coated during the owners possession costing over £1,500. The current owner purchased the vehicle in May 2021 and it had only 2 former keepers prior to this. The previous owner lived in Alicante Spain for 15 years and took this car with them so as such hasn’t been subject to the usual UK weather! It has been exceptionally well cared for and has always been serviced by the Mercedes main dealer and Mercedes specialists. It most recently had a full service & new tyres last year and it’s MOT expires April 2023. A new 12 month MOT will be provided once sold.
 
Prior to this shortly after the current owner acquired the vehicle, no stone was left unturned in terms of budget and the vehicle was taken to a specialist to replace and check everything which included a new fuel pump and sensor, new track and tie rod ends, 4 wheel alignment, new main and service battery, new tailgate struts as well as even replacing both of the wing mirrors glass to ensure perfect as the owner wanted to use this during summer and it be as perfect as a brand new car in terms of everything functioning as it should. After all, this car was over £70,000 when new.
 
There is the usual high specification with this particular vehicle such as air suspension with adjustable height settings for rough ground, BOSE sound system, satellite navigation, 6 CD changer, xenon headlights, power folding hard top, cruise control with speed limiter, power folding door mirrors, automatic climate control & AC, trip computer, wind deflector, heated and memory adjustable seats. It also has an aftermarket Pioneer headunit which has Apple CarPlay and AndroidAuto, as well as the original headunit which will be included in the sale.
 
The vehicle has zero rust and since late 2021 has been garage stored. It is currently in a dehumidified car storage facility left on trickle charge under an indoor car cover.
 
All books and manuals are present along with 2 keys and a clear HPI report. Full service history.
 
The only issues to mention which do not bother the current owner are the front bumper has had a repair on the N/S/F from a scuff taking it out of the garage. To avoid having the entire front bumper removed and repainted and it not looking OEM, it had a local repair which someone with a keen eye for bodyshop detail may notice. The remainder of the entire bodywork is completely original. Secondly, it rarely but sometimes has an intermittent dashboard fault due to a sensor on the ABC suspension system. This is due to it not being driven, the O/S/R sensor ideally needs replacing as it sometimes doesn’t keep the air suspension level. So if not driven or started for a while, upon firing it up the dashboard alerts you it’s not all 100% level, but a simple push of the ride height button re-levels the suspension once everything has enough charge from running and it’s completely fine. This is why the owner invested in professionally storing the vehicle where both batteries are conditioned/maintained as well as it being started and rolled monthly. These two points are the only things the owner could think of mentioning which would be next on the list to sort however we believe this shows the owners level of OCD and proves every inch of this car hasn’t been overlooked.
